December 2008

Here we are in another Holiday Season: Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa all reflecting a time for love, giving, helping, peace and happiness. Remember the less fortunate in our society and offer a little kindness whenever you can. A smile and a nice greeting is a free gift to anyone.

Our country is drifting away from this because the attitude of "me, myself, and I" (selfishness and greed). It seems that a lot of people have turned to hatred, even to where they could kill a fellow creation of GOD, just because they happen to come from some place different, or there was a big sale to get stuff, or because they could not get a transfer after the bus driver gave him a free ride. This is not what this Season is about or what GOD had intended.

As I always emphasize to all of you, do not fall into the ways of this world. Something may look, smell, sound or feel good but may only trap you into doing something that you will regret later.

Civil Air Patrol members across this country have always shown the way to be good citizens and servants. Never let go of this throughout your life because GOD loves all that do good. Remember it is better to give than to receive.

Why not do something different this year.  Get a group together and visit the sick in the hospital.  You will get a warm welcome and you will get a warm feeling that is truly the Spirit of Christmas.

Enjoy this Christmas season, be safe and alert. Happy Chanukah and a Joyous Kwanzaa.
